Huck’s is just as good when you travel as when you are home so when you are heading out on your next trip take Huck’s with you.
- Huck’s is a good source of protein (66g per package) and power packed with good nutrition. You will need 1g of protein per kg of your body weight per day. You will be getting additional protein from other foods. One 150g package will provide adequate protein for 3 – 4 hiker meals.
- Your calories should be supplied by a carbohydrate source such as rice, pasta, couscous, tortillas, asian noodles and dried fruits and vegetables. Also include quinoa for both carbohydrate and protein as it is a quick cooking whole grain.
- Huck’s is mostly fat free. The benefit is a longer shelf life. Take along a good quality fresh source of oil for cooking, calories and good health.
- Huck’s is gently seasoned to give the chef options to express themselves so if you are in the mood don’t be afraid to add more herbs and spices.
- Save fuel. Huck’s cooks quick so if you combine it with a quick cooking carbohydrate such as couscous, instant rice or asian noodles and boiling water you can turn off the heat after one minute leave covered in the pot 10 minutes and it will be ready to eat.
Your Huck’s kit should include
1 package of Veggie Ground Tex Mex, Indian Curry or Italian for every 3-4 individual meals needed plus an assortment of couscous, rice, Asian noodles, pasta and tortillas. A trip to the bulk food store for dried vegetables will expand your meal choices. If you are traveling by boat or car and have access to fresh vegetables the options of course get better. Huck’s is fat free so include a source of quality fresh oil for cooking and extra calories.
